For tasty and healthy shared meals that all family members will love, our slow-growing chickens – such as Joyful Chicken – are raised with natural, 100% plant-based food, without antibiotic treatment.
Agricola's team of specialists fully controls breeding, hatching, feeding, low-rearing densities, abattoir facilities, and sale processes.
We are committed to providing you with the highest quality healthy products; this is why we raise slow-growing chickens on the ground, on our farms, for over 50% longer time compared to standard breeds.
Agricola chickens come from Hubbard hens, carefully selected by our team of professionals for being robust and less prone to ailments under enhanced biosecurity conditions.
We follow the breed supplier’s guide on raising the Joyful Chicken, ensuring and respecting all European and national legal provisions related to breeding, feeding and animal welfare.
Agricola International SA is certified for Quality and Food Safety Management Systems according to SR EN ISO 9001:2015, SR EN ISO 22000:2018, IFS 8:2023, IFS Logistics 2.3:2021, and BRC 9:2022.
Our Joyful Chicken is fed 100% plant-based, of which 70% is corn. Its feed contains grains, soybean/sunflower meal, corn gluten, marigold flour, and minerals. No flours of animal or fish origin are used.
Agricola chickens have a yellowish color like those raised in our grandparents’ households, thanks to the specialized breed and natural food. Our chickens are fed the same ingredients that French and other European farmers have been using for over 50 years.
It is natural for the skin color not to be uniform and slightly differ from chicken to chicken.
As a result of international developments regarding the reduction to exclusion of antibiotic treatments in poultry, we have undertaken to never use antibiotics in the Joyful Chicken production chain, from one day old to slaughter. This is checked and certified by the International Certification Body RINA.
Agricola veterinarians use exclusively – and only in rare cases necessary – natural remedies based on plant extracts and essential oils, which are added to a specialized vaccination program.
In 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2023, “the most qualified jury in the world”, as the Brussels Taste Quality Testing Institute (ITQI) calls it, awarded the Agricola Joyful Chicken 2 gold stars and the “Outstanding Taste” qualification, as well as the right to display the ITQI brand on the label for 3 years.
In addition, the International Institute for Quality Selections “Monde Selection” awarded Joyful Chicken the gold medal in 2019, 2020, and 2023.
Thanks to these distinctions, consumers are assured of the quality of Agricola products, tested and approved by a professional jury of Michelin-star chefs, members of the French Culinary Academy, nutrition and health consultants, chemical engineers, or university lecturers.
