Forest Rooster is a Coquelet chicken from slow-growing Hubbard hens, raised on farms surrounded by forests, in small-size shelters on the ground. Its breed is less prone to ailments of any kind under enhanced biosecurity conditions.
We follow the breed supplier’s guide on raising the Forest Rooster, ensuring and respecting all European and national legal provisions related to breeding, feeding, and animal welfare.

FOOD
Our Forest Rooster is fed naturally and healthily, 100% plant-based. Its feed contains grains, soybean/sunflower meal, corn gluten, marigold flour, and minerals. No flours of animal or fish origin are used.
The yellowish color comes from the specialized breed and natural food. Agricola chickens are fed with healthy ingredients that ensure the taste and refinement of French specialties. It is natural for the skin color not to be uniform and slightly differ from chicken to chicken.
In addition to food, our specialists control the entire process, from reproduction, incubation, and low-rearing densities to abattoir facilities and sales.
Agricola agrees with the international trend of reducing to exclusion the antibiotic treatments in poultry and made this transition in chicken husbandry and care years ago. We never use antibiotics in the Forest Rooster production chain, from one day old to slaughter. This is checked and certified by the International Certification Body RINA.
On rare occasions concerning the welfare of our chickens, Agricola veterinarians use alternative natural solutions, based exclusively on plant extracts and essential oils.
Agricola Forest Rooster was awarded by the jury of Brussels Taste Quality Testing Institute (ITQI) with 2 gold stars and the right to display the ITQI brand on the label for 4 years. In addition, the International Institute for Quality Selections “Monde Selection” awarded Forest Rooster the gold medal in 2019, 2020, 2023 and 2026.
Thanks to these distinctions, consumers are assured of the quality of Agricola products, tested and approved by a professional jury of Michelin-star chefs, members of the French Culinary Academy, nutrition and health consultants, chemical engineers, or university lecturers.
