This recipe is part of the Healthy Nutrition Guide for Children, created by the “Agricola Neam de Gospodari” Association
Ingredients:
✓ 250 g whole wheat flour
✓ 7 g dry yeast
✓ 150 ml milk
✓ 25 g butter
✓ 1 egg
✓ A pinch of salt
✓ 300 g grated apples
✓ Cinnamon
✓ 100 g walnuts
Start by preparing the pie crust. On the work surface., mix together the whole wheat flour, yeast, milk, eggs and butter, until we have a firm dough that you have to leave to rise until it doubles in volume. Grate the apples on a large grater and cook them until the remaining liquid is reduced. Add cinnamon and walnuts and let it cool down. Roll out the dough in the shape of a rectangle, with a size of 45 cm/25 cm. Add the grated apple mixture, roll up the crust, close the ends and bake for 25-30 min at 180*C.
Sprinkle with stevia rebaudiana for more sweetness.
Tips&Tricks:
Use golden apples. They are delicious and at the same time juicy. Make sure they don’t have injuries on surface and are firm. A firm apple is much tastier.
